Emergency Round House Appeal

Thank You Donors!

The Francis and Maisie Pryor Charitable Trust (FMPCT) wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude to each and every donor who has responded to the “Rise from the Ashes: Help rebuild Flag Fen” emergency appeal. Your generosity has already helped raise nearly £18,500, with over 520 individual donations received to date.

On the night of 13th July 2025, the original Iron Age roundhouse at Flag Fen was destroyed by fire. This structure was far more than a building – it was a living classroom, a place of inspiration for thousands of children each year, and a focal point of the experimental archaeology landscape at Flag Fen. But with your support, work is now underway to rebuild and safeguard this iconic structure.

We cannot emphasise enough how critical your support is: without the contributions of generous patrons and community-minded individuals, the future of Flag Fen would be at risk.

A brief note on donor communication and data protection

While FMPCT would have loved to contact all donors individually, under the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the group is unable to do so unless you have explicitly opted in to receive further communications from us. Please be assured that your generous donation has been securely recorded and processed.

We respect your privacy and data rights and are grateful for your understanding.

What happens next?

  • Funds raised will be used to support the rebuilding of the roundhouse, the installation of new interpretative displays, and improved site security at Flag Fen.
  • We will publish regular updates on our website and social channels so you can see how your support is making a difference.
  • We invite you to share the emergency appeal with your networks: every additional donation or mention helps us safeguard this unique heritage site for future generations.

On behalf of the Trustees, staff and supporters of Flag Fen, thank you for supporting us and our unique historical space.
